Correa approves intensive training and praises teammates he found at Flamengo

Midfielder Correa arrived at Flamengo with the approval from none other than the club's greatest idol, Zico. Today the executive director of football, Galinho de Quintinho recommended the signing of the player, who is already among the starting 11 previously chosen by coach Rogério Lourenço for the match against Botafogo, next Wednesday (14.07), at 21 pm, at Maracanã.
And to satisfy the anticipation of stepping onto the field in a Flamengo jersey, Correa has been putting in a lot of effort in training since the preseason in Itu. The player knows, even without having played for the club before, that he needs to dedicate himself to pleasing the fans.
"The preparation has been great. From Itu to here in Gávea, we've been working hard for the team's return to the Brasileirão. I know the responsibility of wearing this jersey, and I also know that the fans demand a lot. They're very passionate and always want to see a show. I hope to be on the field to help us win. We're playing a classic, and it's always good to come out victorious. Especially when the competition returns," he said.
Correa has found renowned players in the Flamengo midfield, such as Petkovic and Kleberson, and highlighted the quality of his new teammates. The midfielder believes this is helping him, especially in terms of team chemistry.
"With a Flamengo midfield, it's always easier to gel. I know that if I play, I won't be 100% in sync with my teammates, but that helps a lot. I hope we don't have any problems with that, as it's a situation every soccer player is used to going through. Renewal in this midfield is common. Every team goes through it," Correa concluded.
Coach Rogério Lourenço has been training with Correa in Flamengo's starting midfield, alongside Willians, Kleberson, and Petkovic. However, if the defensive midfielder isn't fit to play, the coach already has other options. He's fielded Rômulo in place of the Flamengo reinforcement, specifically to ensure the team is familiar with both formations.
