Flamengo's squad returned to training this Friday afternoon at Gávea Stadium. Ahead of Sunday's Brazilian Championship clash against Botafogo, coach Cuca led a training session for the Flamengo squad and virtually confirmed the starting lineup for the derby.
With Willians suspended and Toró and Juan ruled out by the medical department, Cuca lined up Flamengo in a 3-5-2 formation, with Fabrício alongside Welinton and Ronaldo Angelim in defense and Airton playing as the defensive midfielder. The starting lineup trained with: Bruno; Welinton, Fabrício (Guilherme Camacho), and Ronaldo Angelim; Léo Moura, Airton, Kleberson, Zé Roberto, and Everton; Emerson and Adriano.
After the activity, Cuca spoke about his expectations for the match, which is valid for the twelfth round of the Brazilian Championship.
"Botafogo has been improving. They drew with Atlético-MG and beat Avaí. They're in good form and have had the whole week to prepare for the derby. It has everything to be another great match between Flamengo and Botafogo. They're two great teams, who know each other, and who will always look for goals."
