The 2010 Brazilian Championship is drawing to a close. Only eight rounds remain in the most important competition in Brazilian football, and therefore, all teams are giving their all at this moment to finish their participation in the best possible way. Flamengo is no different. Starting their campaign in the final stretch of the tournament, the Rubro-Negro hopes to maintain their good form in the upcoming matches.
And the main weapons for this are unity and overcoming challenges. In the case of striker Deivid, after his goals last Saturday against Internacional, the focus is on continuing to score, starting next Sunday against Vasco.
"I'm not yet in ideal form, but there are only eight games left in the championship. Not only me, but everyone has to give their all at this moment. I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders after scoring the two goals. I work hard all week and I know my level isn't ideal yet. After these two goals, I undoubtedly go onto the field more confident and happy. Details can make the difference and I'm trying to improve as much as possible," said the striker, who revealed he felt better in the weekend's game against Inter.
"I felt better, lighter, in the game against Inter. The expectation is that with each match I can perform better to help Flamengo win as many points as possible. I reaffirm what I said last week: I don't think the Libertadores is a dream, especially since the fourth spot has opened up. As long as we have a chance, we have to chase it and think about winning all eight games," he said.
The number 99 also revealed that he is happy that coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo is concerned about his progress. After all, according to him, this is a sign that the coach trusts his work.
"Luxembourg's arrival made things a little easier for me, because he's someone I speak the same language with. He tries to get the most out of each player, and those who understand what he asks benefit from that. As long as he's pushing me, I'm happy, because the day he stops doing that is the day he's stopped believing in my football," he concluded.
