A truly special visit. At the invitation of the vice president of youth football, Vitor Zanelli, family members of some of the club's youth players, including four survivors of the tragedy at Ninho do Urubu (Cauan, Felipinho, Felipão, and Pablo), visited the Fla-Memória soccer tournament at the Gávea clubhouse this Friday. According to Zanelli, the visit was intended to show the families a little more about Flamengo. 

"The youth football department had the idea of ​​inviting some family members to visit Fla-Memória and learn a little more about our history. Some of them already knew the club and the nest, while others didn't," explained Zanelli.

Vera Lucia de Brito Barros is the grandmother of Cauan Emanuel, a forward in the under-16 category who was the first athlete to be discharged from the hospital. For Vera, visiting the official headquarters was a dream come true. 

"I never imagined I'd come here to the club one day, and today I'm realizing that dream. Thank God, everything is fine with my grandson (Cauan), and I hope he can soon return to training at Flamengo," said Vera, who cried during the visit. Also visiting the club for the first time was Katia Caldeira dos Santos, mother of the under-16 team's midfielder, Felipe Cardoso, known as Felipinho. Katia assured that she would keep the moment in her heart. 

"It's the first time I've visited Flamengo and I'm proud to be here at this moment. I'm taking the opportunity to record everything and keep it as a souvenir." 

The visit was deeply emotional, demonstrating the strength of the families who have endured such a difficult time. But more than that, the players themselves also demonstrated their desire to continue their careers, partly as a tribute to those who have passed away. Rejane Martins Figueiredo, mother of U-17 forward Filipe Chrysman, known as Filipão, said that her son doesn't want to give up his career—quite the opposite. 

"I imagined Filipe didn't want to return, and he said he'll never leave Flamengo. His goal is to play for himself, for God, and for the friends who are gone," said Rejane. The young athlete managed to escape the fire in the first moments. 

And Filipe isn't an isolated case. Valquíria, mother of U-16 forward Pablo Ruan, also made it clear her son's desire to return to play for Flamengo this season.

"He wants to return for the friends he lost. We feel sorry for their families, but they want to continue their lives, their dreams. And we are here to fight for that and, God willing, we will succeed," he concluded. 

Fla Memória is open from Tuesday to Friday, from 10am to 18pm, and Saturday, Sunday and holidays, from 9am to 15pm.
