By From the official website team - inFlamengo has a new goalkeeper for the 2011 season: Felipe, 26, formerly of Corinthians and Braga-POR, signed a one-year contract with the Rubro-negro this Friday (December 17.12th). The new number 1 will report on January 3rd, along with the rest of the squad, at Ninho do Urubu, Flamengo's training center in Vargem Grande. The goalkeeper will travel normally with his teammates to Londrina, where the pre-season will be held.
\Recommended by coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo, Felipe had a great run wearing the Corinthians jersey in the last two years. He won the Série B (2008), Campeonato Paulista (2009) and Copa do Brasil (2009) titles. And it is precisely the football that the goalkeeper displayed at the São Paulo team that the Flamengo coach hopes to see from him wearing the Flamengo jersey. In addition to the one-year contract, Flamengo has the option to buy Felipe's federative rights either in the middle or at the end of 2011. There is also a clause that provides for contract termination in case of disciplinary problems.

"My family is 90% Flamengo fans, yesterday I called my uncle and he was on the phone crying for three minutes. It's really cool. When I was little, I also followed and cheered for them, and now being able to represent this club with so much tradition is really great. I'm here to help, to work and give my all to win titles," said the goalkeeper, who celebrated being recommended by Vanderlei and thanked the fans for their support, even before his signing was officially announced.
"I feel flattered to know that he financed everything this way. We spoke this morning and he said that he had even tried to take me to two other clubs. So I'm very happy, I hope to learn a lot from him and honor the Flamengo jersey to the fullest. Everyone knows that I'm a team player, that I work hard and I'll want to do everything to please the Flamengo fans. I've already received a lot of messages on Twitter, I gained more than three thousand followers in one day and I hope to repay all of that on the field," he added.
