Every player who joins Flamengo goes through a specific 'ritual': answering questions about pressure. Goalkeeper Felipe was no different, even though he'd already been relegated with Corinthians during his career. And since the questions are the same, his answer wasn't out of the ordinary: "I'm used to pressure. I hope to have more wins than losses," said the player recently signed by the Red-Black team.

Even though he moved to Salvador as a child, Felipe, a Rio native, still has relatives living in Jacarepaguá, in Rio's West Zone. And his connection to Rio de Janeiro and Flamengo, the club he's supported since childhood, goes beyond the fan base. "My idol is Julio Cesar," he revealed, taking a page from the current Inter Milan goalkeeper, a product of the Flamengo youth academy.

And Flamengo's coach also received praise from his new manager. Felipe confirmed that he spoke with Luxemburgo before signing with his new club and promised to be dedicated.

"I had the opportunity to talk to him a week ago. I'm happy he paid for my trip. It will be the first time I'll be able to work with him. I thanked him for the opportunity, even though I knew there were many people against it. I told him I'll do my best to always help Flamengo," he said, also talking a little about Mano Menezes, coach of the Brazilian national team.

"We worked together for two years. He's a guy who's known me for a long time. That's the idea too (to be part of the Brazilian national team). You don't have to play abroad to make the national team," he concluded.
