Felipe Vizeu is having a great season. Besides sharing the top scorer title for Flamengo in the 2016 Brazilian Championship with Paolo Guerrero, the youngster has been consistently called up to the U-20 national team. Last week, he participated in his first tournament with the team – and it couldn't have gone better. Alongside his teammates Matheus Sávio and Lucas Paquetá, he won the competition. 

The three Flamengo players made their mark in all three games of the competition, against Ecuador, Uruguay, and Chile. This helped Brazil secure first place in the Quadrangular tournament, which serves as preparation for the South American Under-20 Championship.

In an interview with Flamengo's official website, Felipe Vizeu didn't hide his joy at his good performance.

"It was a unique feeling! It was the first tournament I played in wearing the national team jersey, and I was able to become champion right away. For me, it's an immense pleasure, even more so because I had the company of athletes from the club," he said.

The Flamengo number 18 player said that, even wearing the yellow jersey, he had great support from the Biggest Fanbase in the World.

"The fans were always very supportive on social media. Thank God I was able to do my best, score goals, and help the team win and take the title," he declared.

The striker confirmed that the fact that they have played together for years has contributed positively to the understanding between the Flamengo players in the Brazilian national team.

"Our understanding definitely helps. It was Sávio's first call-up with me; he had already gone with Paquetá. Our understanding comes from three years together, always playing for Flamengo's youth teams. In the first game, Sávio was able to participate with 2 assists, and in the last game, it was Paquetá who gave me the assist in the draw against Chile, when we became champions. It's a great opportunity for the three of us, and I'm sure they also took advantage of it in the best possible way, just like me. It was a pleasure for the three of us to be together," he said.

Despite his good performances, Vizeu remains grounded and envisions a future of hard work.

"Now that I'm back, I have to continue the work. Hopefully, everything will go well in the future and I'll be remembered by Professor Micale," he concluded.
