I don't like losing. I'm always sad when we lose, and I'll always fight to make sure we can come out with victories. I was very close to the line, but I was fortunate enough to avoid defeat," he said.

Aware that he didn't have a good first half against Corinthians last Wednesday, David didn't deny that he was upset, especially with the own goal, but he stated that in the second half of that match he was able to concentrate more to help the team.

"We're prone to mistakes. I made a mistake on Wednesday, but that's it. Right after the goal, I kept playing, I managed to improve in the second half along with the team, and we qualified. Now it's time to move forward," he said.

The defender also analyzed the team's performance in this Brasileirão opener. According to him, São Paulo was a worthy opponent, but Flamengo proved they have a great squad, especially in the second half.

"There was a change in the lineup. We're not used to playing together and we had a bit of difficulty. São Paulo played well, held the ball well, and we scored a lot from distance. But we improved in the second half, got the equalizer, and could have even turned the game around. The team deserves congratulations for their fight and for not losing," he noted.

On loan to Flamengo from Panathinaikos in Greece until June 30th, David has already begun talks to extend his contract with the club.
