The week started with news at Flamengo. This Monday (11), striker Fernandinho was presented as the club's new reinforcement for the rest of the 2016 season.

The club's executive director of football, Rodrigo Caetano, explained the details of the player's contract. The player, who plays for Grêmio-RS, will have his salary split between the two clubs and will remain on loan at Mais Querido until the end of 2016.

Play for Flamengo

I'm grateful for the privilege. It's a dream come true. Like me, others dream of playing here. With this fan base, this history... I want to be a part of it, giving my all and winning titles. I see it as a challenge. Grêmio and Flamengo are great teams, with different histories. We have to work. We have a very good squad, a successful coach. We're working on physiology and preparation that will help us achieve our goals.

Play style

I play on both the left and right flanks, depending on the coach's needs. I learn from my teammates and see how best to play with them.

I want to keep working, giving my best. Flamengo is a club that delivers great things. It's a giant club. The challenges are greater, but the victories are also great.

Competition

To play for a big team, you have to overcome obstacles. Every big club has great options for positions. I have to, during training and matches, earn my place.

I didn't have the privilege of working with Muricy at São Paulo FC. As I said, it's a privilege for me. I'm absolutely certain it will be very good for me and my career.

I was very anxious, but even more excited about coming here. I try to stay calm when I start training, and my contact with my teammates will gradually decrease, so I can be calm when I go out on the field. I'm really looking forward to playing in Rio. The city is great, and the fans are incredibly attentive. I want to make the most of every day here.
