Midfielder Fernando is Flamengo's first signing of the 2010 season. The younger brother of Carlos Alberto, who came through the ranks at Fluminense and now plays for Vasco da Gama, Fernando Gomes de Jesus passed his medical exams on Thursday afternoon and will be officially presented this Friday at 11 a.m. at the football department in Gávea. Fernando will then head to Porto Feliz, where the squad is conducting preseason training. The 24-year-old player has played for São Paulo, Goiás, and Portuguesa.
