Fernando looking for a new opportunity at Flamengo
Midfielder tries to take advantage of the space to establish himself as an option for coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo in the squad

Two of coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo's options for Flamengo's defensive midfielder position in next Wednesday's (November 03.11) match against Ceará have been ruled out. This creates an opportunity for Fernando to dream of a chance. The number 17, who has been used by Luxa in training and was even included in the squad for recent games, believes he can be used in the clash against Vozão in the middle of the week.
\The player arrived at Gávea at the beginning of the year, scored on his debut against Duque de Caxias, and has already played 20 matches for the red-and-black team. In recent months, he hasn't had many opportunities and has even played for the under-23 team to maintain his match fitness. With Luxemburgo's signing, he even played against Internacional in a 3-0 victory at Engenhão Stadium, and now hopes for another chance to prove himself.
\"I've been training hard and even more motivated because Vanderlei Luxemburgo (coach) started using me in training in the way I think I can help Flamengo the most, as a defensive midfielder. Since Maldonado is suspended, I confess that I'm hoping to get another chance with the team. \Fernando knows the midweek mission won't be easy. Flamengo will face Ceará, one of the teams with the highest average attendance and best home record. Even so, he's confident the Red-Blacks will get a positive result.
\"I understand that playing Ceará at Castelão is always very difficult. Even though they're practically safe from relegation, they won't give us an easy time. Their fans always show up in good numbers and put a lot of pressure on us. Furthermore, Ceará is ahead of us in the standings. It will be a very tough game, but we have every chance of winning if we play with focus and impose our rhythm from the start," he added.
