Striker Fernando Uribe was officially introduced this Wednesday at the George Helal Training Center, in a press conference attended by Flamengo president Eduardo Bandeira de Mello and Executive Director of Football Carlos Noval. The 30-year-old, who was playing for Toluca in Mexico, arrives to bolster an attack that already features Henrique Dourado and Paolo Guerrero, and has signed a contract until December 2021. For his last club, Uribe scored 61 goals in 117 appearances.
Fernando Uribe wore the number 20 jersey for the first time and had already introduced himself to the players on Tuesday, when he performed his first training sessions on the training center field. In the interview, he shared his first impressions of Flamengo.
"My first impressions were positive. All my teammates welcomed me very well. The little I saw of the fans was also positive, and I'm very happy to be joining the best team in Brazil. I want to be a goalscorer and fulfill the expectations of the institution that placed its trust in me."
Alongside midfielder Gustavo Cuéllar and forwards Orlando Berrío and Marlos Moreno, there are now four Colombian players in the red-and-black squad. For Fernando Uribe, this helps him "feel at home," but he hopes to learn Portuguese soon to adapt as quickly as possible.
"They'll help me a lot. They're all high-quality and have been playing here for a long time. They're respected, and that will make it easier for me to adapt. My intention is to learn the language as quickly as possible so I can get along with my teammates."

Relationship with Henrique Dourado
"It was a normal conversation, and he was one of the best people to welcome me. He's got a lot of quality and was last year's top scorer. It'll be a good match, and both of them will improve for the good of the team.
Red-Black Nation
"When you join the biggest team in the country, there's always pressure. I'll work day in and day out, giving my all, and I'll give my best for the institution, the jersey, and the club's colors. I'll do everything I can to ensure we always have a good relationship."
Features
"I'm very mobile in attack and I get along well with my teammates. I really enjoy scoring, and scoring is what I always strive for in games.
Physical issues
"The championship in Mexico ended on May 20th, but I've been doing some work during that time. I'm available, and the coaching staff will decide when the best time to bring me in is up to them. I feel great, but the final decision is theirs.
