Flamengo's last game of the year is not only a great opportunity for the club to compete in the 2011 Copa Sudamericana, but also for some players who didn't have many chances to play during the 2010 season. One of them is the Chilean Fierro, who played in the World Cup for his country and almost transferred to Argentine football this year.

In a season that, for him, had very positive moments, such as the chance to go to the World Cup, and also negative events, such as the negotiation with Boca Juniors, this is an opportunity to end the year well: playing as a starter and showing that he has the quality to be used at Flamengo.

"I'm happy to be back in the starting lineup. Playing a game like this, the last game of the championship, a little more relaxed after leaving the bottom of the table, will be important. I'll work to do well and also to show what I can do for next year, for sure. I know that in every game we have to do our best and I'll try to do that," he noted.
\
Motivated, Fierro says he never stopped running or sweating for the red-and-black shirt, even when he wasn't being used as much. Therefore, he says that now it will be no different: he will give his all to help the team against Santos, on Sunday (05.12), at Vila Belmiro.

"I'm a professional, I train hard and I dedicate myself a lot to each training session, regardless of whether I get a chance as a starter or on the bench... I'll never complain, I'll never speak ill of anyone, nothing like that. I'm happy here at Flamengo and I hope to do well in this opportunity to start playing and help the team achieve a victory. It's a great chance and I hope to live up to it," he concluded.

'El Pistolero' arrived at Gávea in 2008, and since then has played 60 games for Flamengo. He scored two goals, provided four assists, and won two titles (the Carioca and Brazilian championships in 2009). This year, Fierro has played 20 games, starting six of them.
