Chile releases list of 23 players for the competition with the red-black team present

Expectations for the final cut in the Chilean national team's World Cup squad were high, but they ended on Tuesday night. And the call-up had a happy ending for Gonzalo Fierro. The Flamengo midfielder has been confirmed for the World Cup in South Africa by coach Marcelo Bielsa. After training with 24 players, "El Loco" cut Colo Colo full-back Roberto Cereceda. Chile is in Group H of the World Cup, along with Spain, Honduras, and Switzerland.
The list also includes other famous names from world football, such as Matías Fernandez, currently with Sporting, Portugal; Suazo, with Zaragoza, Spain; and four players who faced Flamengo in the Copa Libertadores. They are Ponce and Fuentes, from Universidad Católica, and Pinto and Estrada, from Universidad de Chile. The full list is available at website of the Chilean National Football Association.
