After Dunga announced that Kleberson will represent Brazil in the World Cup in South Africa, Chilean national team coach Marcelo Bielsa also called up a red-and-black player for the tournament. Midfielder Gonzalo Fierro, known as "El Pistolero" and a huge success playing for Colo-Colo, is on Chile's shortlist of 30 players who will participate in the competition. Before the start of the World Cup, seven players from this list will be cut.



"I've been called up since 2006 and I think I've made the most of my opportunities. Playing in a World Cup is the biggest dream of my career and I'm going to fight hard to do my best for my country," said the player, who is training with the Flamengo delegation for the first leg of the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals, this Wednesday, against Universidad de Chile.

At 27, Fierro arrived at Gávea in 2008 and has already won a Campeonato Carioca and a Campeonato Brasileiro with Flamengo. Wearing the Manto Sagrado, the player has played 58 matches and scored two goals, in addition to four assists. In Chile, he won two Aperturas and three Clausuras. Having recovered from a knee injury and in excellent form in Flamengo's midfield, midfielder Maldonado ended up being overlooked by Marcelo Bielsa and is not on the list.

Chile is in Group H of the World Cup, alongside Spain, Switzerland and Honduras.
