Chilean hopes to shine in final match before World Cup call-up

The World Cup is approaching, and Fierro is getting closer and closer to leaving Rio de Janeiro for South Africa. Before that, however, Flamengo's number 16 has important commitments with the Red-Blacks. On Sunday, he has a good chance of starting in Flamengo's opening match of the 2010 Brazilian Championship, against São Paulo.
After that, the midfielder will return to his home country, Chile, midweek to face Universidad de Chile in Santiago. Call-up - I'm calm. Chile will announce their squad on Tuesday, and I think I've already done my part. I'm not anxious, but on Sunday I hope to play well. I hope everyone in Chile is watching, and I hope I show my work so everyone knows I can help at the World Cup.
Group support - It's really great to have this support from the group. Everyone is concerned and committed to helping both me and Maldonado with the Chilean national team, as well as Kleberson and Adriano in Brazil. Everyone knows how important the World Cup is to us, and I also think it's good for the club.
Flamengo vs. São Paulo – This is obviously a good opportunity for me. Every game here at Flamengo is important, and a match against São Paulo is always tough. This game is crucial for us in the championship. It's always good to start with a win.
Flamengo vs. "La U" - It's a tough matchup. We'll face a team that plays hard, has good technique, and also has a lot of players on the national team, and we know it will be tough to get past them. The first game, at Maracanã, is crucial. We need to build a good advantage here in Rio.
