Volta Redonda (RJ) – Since returning to Flamengo after a loan transfer to Boca Juniors fell through, midfielder Fierro hadn't been getting much playing time with the club. However, a change in management, with the arrival of Vanderlei Luxemburgo, was enough for the Chilean to return to the starting lineup.

The number 16 shirt was selected by the new coach to face Atlético-GO, this Thursday (October 07.10th), and he did not hide his happiness for the new chance to demonstrate his talent with the red and black shirt.

"Flamengo was a club that welcomed me very well and I'm happy to be back. I had been training, but unfortunately Silas didn't give me a chance. But now, Luxemburgo has included me in the squad, he trusts me, and if I have the chance to play, I hope to give my best to help the team get out of this situation," he said.

Fierro is aware of the difficulties of the match against Dragão and the importance of a Flamengo victory in the duel. Therefore, he guarantees that he will play with great commitment, if necessary, to help the team from Gávea.

"I'm very happy. It's a great opportunity, in a complicated game where we need the victory to get out of the bottom of the table," noted Fierro, who also clarified the reasons why he didn't go to Boca Juniors.

"I did have a problem with my vision, but I had surgery in 2005 and never had anything again. I played normally in Chile and went to a World Cup. Here at Flamengo, I also always played, and they didn't want to accept me there because of that. Oh well. I was sad, but also happy to be back here," he concluded.
