Filipe Luís is officially Flamengo's new player. The left-back, who played for 15 years in Europe, was presented before the activity this Thursday (26), at Ninho do Urubu, by Reinaldo Belotti, CEO of the club, by the vice-president of Football, Marcos Braz, and by the executive director of football, Bruno Spindel. A Flamengo fan at heart, the reinforcement declared in a press conference that it was a childhood dream to play with the Manto Sagrado.

"I became a Flamengo fan because of my uncle. He gave me a Flamengo membership card. Then, because of my grandfather, a very dear man. Only wonderful memories. I promised them I would play for Flamengo. They've passed away. I'm sure they're proud wherever they are. I agreed to play for the club because I want to make Flamengo's history," he says.

Filipe Luís spoke about the negotiation, the importance of Flamengo in his life and called on the fans to support the Mais Querido in the upcoming decisions.

"It was a very difficult decision, after 15 years in Europe. I had the possibility of staying. But when Flamengo calls and shakes us up, it's different. My family is here and understands and knows what Flamengo means to me. It's a dream. It was only possible because Flamengo has this project of greatness today, of fighting for every title. I'm not the savior of the nation, but I came to help. With the nation on our side, I'm sure we'll win important titles," he emphasizes.
