Flamengo's coach, Filipe Luís, has been nominated for the 2025 Best Men's Club Coach in the World award, promoted by the IFFHS (International Federation of Football History & Statistics). The organization brings together experts and journalists from various countries to elect the leading figures in world football throughout the season.

The list released this Friday (7) features 25 coaches who stood out in 2025. Among them are two other representatives with ties to Brazilian football: the Portuguese Abel Ferreira, of Palmeiras, and the Gaucho Tiago Nunes, of LDU. All three led their teams to the semi-finals of this year's CONMEBOL Libertadores, a competition that will be decided between Flamengo and Palmeiras.

In addition to names from South America, the list includes prominent European coaches such as Diego Simeone (Atlético de Madrid), Hansi Flick (Barcelona), Luis Enrique (PSG), Mikel Arteta (Arsenal), and Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid), among others.

The IFFHS has been organizing votes to choose the best in the world in various categories since 1987. The award takes into account the performance of professionals during the current year, from January to December, and the result will be announced after December 10th.

Filipe Luís' appointment reinforces the international recognition for the work he has done leading Flamengo in his first full season as head coach, crowning a year of consistent performance in continental and national competitions.
