This Sunday's derby (August 01.08st) will be the 255th in history between Flamengo and Vasco and the 245th between the two teams at Maracanã. Another one for the statistics of this rivalry, which are largely favorable to the team from Gávea. But regardless of the numbers, what matters to the red-and-blacks is to take the field at 18:30 pm and secure their 141st victory over their rival from São Januário.
Of these, 98 were at the Maracanã, the venue for this Sunday's match and which will soon close to undergo renovations for the 2014 World Cup. During this period, the red-black fans will be left to remember the great matches they played and watched at the stadium. This is the case of goalkeeper Marcelo Lomba, who has two unforgettable games at the Biggest Stadium in the World.

"I played in the Libertadores debut, when I came on at the last minute because of Bruno's injury. The fans got to know me better there and I believe I did well. As a fan, without a doubt, it was Pet's free kick goal against Vasco in 2001 that was very exciting," he said.

Left-back Juan is another with a story to tell at the Maracanã. He scored Flamengo's goal in the 2006 Copa do Brasil final against Vasco, one of the twenty titles the Red-Blacks won over their rivals. The same goes for Ronaldo Angelim, who scored the sixth-place goal last year against Grêmio. But when it comes to the Clássico dos Milhões at the Maracanã, there's no one better to talk about it than Dejan Petkovic.
\
"They were truly unforgettable matches. To this day, I am recognized and remembered for that free kick goal. I have decided some games in favor of Flamengo, but this is the one I remember the most without a doubt. Maracanã is a different stadium, which pleases us all, where Flamengo feels at home and it is always special to play there, especially with a full house," said the Serbian, referring to the 2001 State Championship final, where Flamengo beat Vasco 3-1 and the match against the team from São Januário in which he scored two goals in a 4-0 rout in the 2000 Brasileirão.
