Flamengo's youth team defeated Macaé 1-0 this Saturday afternoon in Edson Passos Stadium, becoming the Taça Rio champion. Paulo Sérgio scored the winning goal for Flamengo early in the match. With the victory, the team from Gávea faces Fluminense in the grand final of the Campeonato Carioca, on April 27th and May 4th, at Maracanã Stadium. Flamengo is seeking its fourth consecutive championship in the category.

On the field, Flamengo quickly took the initiative. Before the first minute, Pedro Beda took a shot, the goalkeeper saved it, and Renan nearly opened the scoring for Flamengo. Six minutes in, Airton made a good play and passed it to Erick Flores, who shot just wide of the goal.

Flamengo's pressure paid off in the 14th minute. Davidson went to the byline and crossed for Paulo Sérgio. The striker had time to control the ball and shoot into the corner of goalkeeper Rerysson's net: 1-0 Flamengo. It was the 17th goal for the top scorer in the Campeonato Carioca.

Macaé didn't pose much of a threat to Marcelo's goal, and the first half ended with a red-black victory.

In the second half, Flamengo quickly threatened in the eighth minute, with Pedro Beda hitting the post. A standout performer for the team in the final, midfielder Airton nearly extended his lead shortly after, shooting wide.

In the 28th minute, forward Carlinhos nearly added another for Flamengo, but the ball capriciously hit the post. Daividson took a shot from the rebound, but the Macaé goalkeeper made a beautiful save.

Macaé tried to equalize at the end, with Anderson, but the Taça Rio title was already guaranteed.
