With yet another activity to sweat the shirt, the Flamengo team ended, this Saturday (26.06), its second week of training in the preseason that it has been carrying out during the World Cup. After playing its first collective, on Friday (25.06), the red-blacks did physical and technical work at Ninho do Urubu.
The highlight was Petkovic, who has recovered from an ankle injury. The player hadn't been working with the ball all week, but he surprised everyone this Saturday by displaying the agility and quality that have made him a fan favorite for Flamengo. He delivered excellent passes, ran, and appeared to pose no problem for the rest of the season.
"I'm feeling good. The work is going well and I believe this won't get in the way of me returning to the Brazilian Championship," said Pet, who hadn't participated in a ball activity since June 2, when he suffered a hard tackle on his left ankle by Pierre, in the game against Palmeiras, in the sixth round of the Brazilian Championship.
After training this Saturday, the red-and-black squad will rest on Sunday and will report back at 9 a.m. on Monday in Gávea. On Tuesday, the team will travel to Itu, where they will play the second half of their preseason training camp.
