Flamengo's U-20 team didn't get off to a good start in the Brazilian Championship. Playing at Farroupilha Stadium in Porto Alegre, coach Adílio's team lost 2-1 to Sport in their Group 4 opener. Flamengo's group also includes Internacional, Atlético-PR, and Portuguesa.

The game started off tense, with both teams making numerous misplaced passes. The Pernambuco team played better and opened the scoring with a goal from number 10 José Richardson. In the second half, Everton Felipe extended the lead for Sport, and Vinícius Santos pulled one back for the red-and-black team from Gávea.

In the next round, Flamengo faces Internacional, tomorrow, at 19 pm, at Farroupilha Stadium.
