Flamengo got off to a flying start in the Taça Rio, the second round of the Campeonato Carioca, with a comeback 4-2 victory over Resende this Sunday afternoon at Maracanã. Diego Tardelli (2), Obina and Thiago Sales scored the goals in the red-black victory.

With a heavily modified lineup, the start of the game was difficult for the team from Gávea. Just nine minutes in, debutant Leonardo conceded a penalty on Alexsandro. The Resende forward struck well and opened the scoring at the Maracanã stadium.

The goal conceded helped the red-and-blacks grow in the match. In the 11th minute, Obina shot wide to equalize. Four minutes later, Diego Tardelli threatened with a dangerous header, saved by goalkeeper Márcio.

In the 22nd minute, Resende capitalized on a Flamengo defensive blunder to extend their lead. Toni passed the ball to Leo, who shot from the edge of the box, into the corner of goalkeeper Bruno's goal. Five minutes later, Thiago Sales passed to Leonardo, who smashed the ball against the Resende crossbar.

In the 28th minute, Diego Tardelli crossed, and Thiago Sales headed in to reduce the score to 2-1. The goal galvanized the fans and the Flamengo team, and in the 32nd minute, Diego Tardelli took a powerful shot, but goalkeeper Márcio saved again. In the 43rd minute, Obina received a beautiful pass from Jônatas and hit the post in Flamengo's last chance of the first half.

In the second half, coach Joel Santana made two changes to the team. Gávilan and Maxi replaced Jaiton and Jônatas. The changes helped the Gávea team improve in the match. In the eighth minute, Kleberson threatened with a shot from outside the box.

In the 15th minute, the red-and-blacks celebrated at the Maracanã. Kleberson burst into the box from the right, beautifully chipped Márcio Costa, and crossed for Obina to equalize.

Flamengo launched an attack, and the comeback came five minutes later. Maxi made a beautiful play and passed to Diego Tardelli, who finished with skill and goal. In the 25th minute, Obina nearly added another, heading dangerously.

The game continued with Flamengo's dominance. In the 45th minute, Diego Tardelli completed Flamengo's celebration, scoring his second goal after a cross from Obina. With the result, Flamengo took the lead in Group A of the Rio Cup.

On Tuesday the players travel to Montevideo where they will face Nacional on Thursday in the Libertadores.
