Fla Gávea improves conditions for members and employees in Gávea
Cacau Cotta took over as general director of the department and achieved significant improvements in two months

A little over two months have passed since Cacau Cotta took over as general director of Fla Gávea, the department responsible for managing the facilities at Clube de Regatas Flamengo's headquarters in Gávea. And, just as promised during president Patricia Amorim's campaign, the member has seen things start to improve at the club's main headquarters.
Simple actions, which had been neglected over the years, have begun to be taken at Gávea. And this simplicity doesn't diminish the importance of these actions, which aim to provide greater comfort for members of Brazil's most beloved club.
"Our focus is to make the clubhouse even better for our members. We've taken several steps that will quickly bring about improvements in various areas of the club. In addition to these improvements, we've managed to renegotiate some payments and contracts, which have now become favorable to Flamengo," said Cacau.
Among the improvements made so far, the general director of Fla Gavea cites the renovation of the pool bathrooms, the entrance to the Gilberto Cardoso gymnasium and the removal of garbage from the club.
"We're renovating the pool bathrooms, aiming to build two mini-locker rooms with benches, showers, etc. This will better serve the social area and will empty out the competition pool locker rooms a bit. Also in the social pool, we installed a new stainless steel ladder for children and seniors. This was a long-standing request from the club and was easy to resolve. At the Gilberto Cardoso side entrance, there was a lot of debris and tall weeds. We cleaned it all up and poured concrete. This gave it a new look. Not to mention the general cleanup we did as soon as we took over. Tons of trash were removed from Gávea," said Cacau Cotta, explaining how he balanced some of the bills in Flamengo's favor.
"We changed the pool maintenance company. We got a lower price for better service. This represents a savings of R$10,000 per year. Furthermore, the partners have already praised it highly. We also reduced the amount paid to the elevator maintenance company. The savings are also R$10,000, and this was done with just one phone call. Speaking of phone calls, the phone bill dropped by R$5,000 per month. All of this money will be returned to the headquarters. We will use the money to make improvements in Gávea," explained Cacau, announcing the news.
"We received a mini playground, worth R$80, which is still to be installed. We'll have a children's area with the best equipment, and we paid nothing for it. We obtained all the pool furniture from Olympikus. The Olympic Sports Department didn't have its own storage room. Everything was scattered around, and a lot of equipment was lost. Today, we have a space just for them. These things improve the atmosphere at the club. Members and employees are more satisfied and happier to be in Gávea," said the director, sharing a statement from an employee at the International Women's Day breakfast.
"In addition to all the work we've done at the club, we've started hosting events. We had a Carnival ball, an International Women's Day breakfast, and the Red and Black Ball, all proceeds of which went toward club renovations. This boosts everyone's self-esteem here. An employee told me, at breakfast with the president, that she now receives her salary on time and even receives gifts. She never imagined she'd be sitting in a grand ballroom at Flamengo, participating in a celebration. Today, they know they're important to us," Cacau concluded.
