Fla thrashes Cardoso Moreira 4-1
The result leaves the red-black team at the top of Group A of the Carioca.
By Flamengo Archive - inFlamengo convincingly defeated Cardoso Moreira 4-1 this Thursday night (January 24th) at Maracanã. With two consecutive victories, the red-and-black team is the leader of Group A of the Campeonato Carioca. Ibson, Souza, Juan and Léo Moura scored the team's goals.
The first good news of the night was the inclusion of goalkeeper Bruno, whose situation was regularized. On the field, Flamengo quickly took the initiative. In the ninth minute, Marcinho made a beautiful play down the right wing and crossed to Souza in the six-yard box; the striker hit a beautiful header, which was saved by goalkeeper Macula. Giving the opponent no chance, Flamengo quickly scored the first goal. After Juan was pushed in the box, Ibson skillfully converted a penalty kick to open the scoring.
A few minutes later, Ernandes committed a violent foul on Leonardo Moura, earning a red card. With the red card, Flamengo launched an attack to seal the match. Flamengo quickly regained control of the game and threatened in the 14th minute with Ibson missing a great chance in the penalty area.
Coach Joel Santana decided to change the lineup, taking off defensive midfielder Jailton and bringing on striker Obina. Marcinho was moved to midfield. Soon after coming on, the striker delivered a beautiful pass for Juan to shoot powerfully, making it 3-1 to Flamengo.
Joel made two more changes to the team, bringing on Argentine Maxi and defender Rodrigo, who made his debut in the red-and-black shirt.
In the 36th minute, Flamengo scored a rout. Léo Moura received the ball from Juan in the penalty area and fired a cross-shot to seal the victory for Flamengo.
In the next round, on Sunday (27/01), Flamengo will face Duque de Caxias, at 18:10 pm, at Maracanã.
