Playing beautiful football in the second half, Flamengo thrashed Mesquita 4-1 this Wednesday night at Maracanã. With the victory, Flamengo maintained its 100% record in the Guanabara Cup and the lead in Group B with 12 points. Flamengo's victory was thanks to goals from debutant Zé Roberto and goalkeeper Bruno, who sealed the victory with a stunning free kick.

From the opening minutes of the match, Flamengo's superiority was evident. Two minutes in, Léo Moura, who had made his 200th appearance for Flamengo, crossed from the right, and Fábio Luciano headed dangerously. Three minutes later, Willians made a good run down the left and fired a powerful shot, scaring goalkeeper Afonso.
