Fla thrashes Olaria 5-0 in Gávea
With goals from Pacheco, Diego Mauricio, Pet and Camacho, Rubro-Negro passes the final test
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inFlamengo proved, this Saturday afternoon (10.07), that it is evolving more and more in its preseason. After only drawing with Desportivo Brasil (1-1) and Ituano (2-2), in the two training matches it played in Itu, on its return to Rio de Janeiro, the red-blacks beat Olaria, 5-0, with goals from Diego Maurício, Vinícius Pacheco (two), Camacho and Petkovic (penalty), in Gávea. The match was Fla's last before the return to the Brasileirão, next Wednesday (14.07), against Botafogo.
Coach Rogério Lourenço confirmed the trend and fielded Marcelo Lomba, Leo Moura, David, Ronaldo Angelim, and Juan; Correa, Willians, Kleberson, and Petkovic; Vinicius Pacheco and Diego Maurício. In the second half, Welinton, Jean, and Rômulo came on in place of David, Angelim, and Correa, indicating Rogério's possible backup plan for the team if David and Correa are unable to play in the derby.
Flamengo's lead was built entirely in the first half. The young attacking duo of Diego Maurício and Vinícius Pacheco, despite playing only their second game together (the first against Ituano last Wednesday), showed chemistry and a keen eye for goal: Pacheco opened the scoring and Diego added the second. Before the end, Serbian Petkovic made it 3-0 with a beautiful free kick.
In the second half, with some changes already made, Flamengo changed its style of play slightly. With Rômulo in midfield, Rogério Lourenço's team switched to a false 3-5-2 formation. Camacho was also introduced into the team, scoring Flamengo's fourth goal. Pacheco rounded off the scoring with Flamengo's fifth and his second of the match.
