Fla starts the second round with a defeat in São Paulo

It wasn't until this Wednesday (08.09) that Flamengo managed to start a comeback in the 2010 Brazilian Championship. After conceding a goal after just eight minutes of play and having Diogo sent off in the first half, the Rubro-Negro was unable to react and ended up defeated by São Paulo, 2-0, at Morumbi, with goals from Marlos and Fernandão. In the second half, the Rubro-Negro team even tried to equalize, but the score remained unchanged.
The result means Flamengo maintains its 22 points and drops to 16th place in the table. São Paulo, in turn, reaches 28 and is now in seventh place. In the next round, Flamengo plays its first game away from Maracanã in the championship. The team faces Vitória on Saturday (August 11.08) at Raulino de Oliveira Stadium in Volta Redonda.
"This was only my third game in charge of the team, we didn't have much time to work, but we have to think ahead and believe that the team can turn things around," said coach Silas.

Playing at home, coming off two losses and in a match celebrating Rogério Ceni's 20th anniversary at the club, São Paulo started the game at full speed.
