Flamengo is the most popular club among pay-per-view subscribers of the Brazilian Football Championship Series A and B.
The result is the fruit of a survey conducted by Premiére Futebol Clube (PFC). In the survey, Rio fans came out ahead of the rest, with 15% of the signatures made this year.
In second place were Corinthians and Fluminense, with 12% of subscribers. São Paulo, with 8%, and Grêmio and Internacional (both with 7%) were others that achieved significant results among viewers.
In addition to fan preferences, the study mapped, for the first time, the profile of package subscribers. According to the survey, the preference is male. Of PPV subscribers, 95% are men. The average age is 33.
With this survey, Globosat, which holds the PPV marketing rights, partially pleases the clubs, who have always asked for sales to be made divided by clubs, and not for the entire championship.
The survey of preferred fan bases allows, for the first time, mapping the clubs that lead in package sales. However, this could create a crisis in the discussion about the distribution of PPV revenue. For this season, PFC is expected to break sales records, with 550 subscription sales for Série A and 125 for Série B, increasing revenue for Globosat and the clubs.
