The Red-Blacks trained on Wednesday afternoon at Gávea. The starters did recovery training.
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inAfter achieving their second consecutive victory in the Brazilian Championship after the World Cup on Sunday (18.07), Flamengo's squad returned to training this Monday (19.07) in Gávea. The group gained an extra hour of rest, as the flight that brought the group from Goiânia to Rio de Janeiro ended up being delayed at the airport in the capital of Goiás, and therefore, training only started at 1 pm.
The starters in the victory against Dragão did some regenerative work in the gym. The reserves and non-players played a mini-training session on a reduced-size field. Among the players participating in this training session were the newly signed Jean, Cristian Borja, Marquinhos, and Val Baiano. Goalkeeper Marcelo Lomba worked hard with coach Cantareli. Diego Lima, Paulo Victor, and Vinícius took turns scoring goals during the reserves' training session.
Two pieces of good news for coach Rogério Lourenço were the returns of Maldonado and Antônio to ball training on the pitch. The two midfielders are recovering from knee and thigh injuries, respectively, but are already showing signs of being in the final stages of recovery. Both walked laps around the pitch and also worked on movement and passing with fitness coaches Daniel Jouvin and Diogo Linhares.
