After a week without much news about his favorite club, the Flamengo fans will finally be able to see their team training daily starting this Tuesday (15.06). The Flamengo squad returned, after a few days off, to Gávea, to start the preseason during this period in which the Brazilian Championship is paralyzed due to the World Cup.

Without much change, the group showed up with 25 players: Marcelo Lomba, Paulo Victor, Leonardo Moura, Galhardo, Jean, Ronaldo Angelim, Fabrício, David, Welinton, Everton Silva, Rodrigo Alvim, Juan, Toró, Willians, Rômulo, Lenon, Antônio, Vinícius Pacheco, Léo Medeiros, Saba, Petkovic, Vagner Love, Paulo Sérgio, and Diego Maurício. Goalkeeper Bruno, suffering from lower back pain, showed up but did not train with his teammates. Michael, Gil, Ramón, Dênis Marques, Álvaro, and Fernando did not attend the training session, but this does not concern the new director of football, Zico.

"We had some absences from training today, yes. However, some situations still need to be discussed. I'm a dialogue guy and I like to listen to the players. I don't know what happened with Ramon, Denis Marques, and Fernando. Gil and Álvaro, however, have different situations. Their contracts are ending, and since we don't have them, there wouldn't be any point in them returning. Michael was released to deal with a personal matter. I'd like to make it clear that I can't comment on these other cases without knowing what really happened," he said.

The main changes were made by the new coaching staff, formed by coach Rogério Lourenço, his assistant Marcelo Buarque, physical trainer Toninho Oliveira, and goalkeeping coach Cantarelli. Executive director of football Zico initially spoke for a few minutes with the staff and then gathered the entire group in the center of the field, along with president Patricia Amorim. Shortly after, the players began a run around the field.

"I hope to pass on the experience I've had, here and at other clubs, and everything I've learned to everyone. This is a good group, but we know it can be improved. Everyone here has shown the ability to be at Flamengo, and my job now is to provide the best conditions for them to perform at their best on the field," said Galinho.

This Wednesday, Flamengo will train again in the morning at 9 a.m. in Gávea. On Thursday and Friday, the players will work full-time, with interviews in the morning. On Saturday, the group will train again in the morning, with Sunday off.
