Fla will have young news in the preseason
Full-back Jorbison returns to the professional squad and goalkeeper Diego Lima is promoted. Both will go to Itu.
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inIt won't be just the reinforcements that will attract attention in the second part of Flamengo's preseason training camp in Itu. Two young players, who came through the club's youth academy, will also be training with the first team in the coming days in the interior of São Paulo. This Monday (June 28.06), during the Flamengo squad's final training session in Rio before the trip, left-back Jorbison and goalkeeper Diego Lima were promoted and received the news that they will travel with the squad.
\For Jorbison, playing professionally is nothing new. At 18, the full-back got his first opportunity last season and was part of the Brazilian champion squad. He played three games in the sixth-title campaign and even provided an assist. This year, he spent part of the preseason with the group in Porto Feliz, but later returned to the youth team. Now, back with the main team, he hopes to repeat his 2009 success.
\"I'm happy with this new opportunity. The goal of any youth player is to move up and join the first team. It's no different for me. I'm going to take this opportunity to work hard and prove that I can stay in the squad," he said.
\Goalkeeper Diego Lima, 20, will have his first opportunity to train extensively with the senior squad. A Rio de Janeiro youth champion in 2006, a two-time winner of the Circuito das Águas tournament, a champion of the Macaé Cup, and a third-place finisher at the U-20 World Cup in Malaysia, the goalkeeper was playing in the State Junior Championship and will travel to Itu with the squad alongside Marcelo Lomba and Paulo Victor.
