By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inAfter performing a technical and tactical training in the morning This Wednesday (28.07), Flamengo coach Rogério Lourenço left the afternoon activities in the hands of physical trainer Toninho Oliveira. The players did physical work on Barra da Tijuca beach, in front of the Windsor Hotel, where the athletes gather and where they had lunch and rested between training sessions.
\Toninho completed a circuit of activities on the sand, and the red-and-blacks dedicated themselves to this third activity of the week for Sunday's (August 01.08st) derby against Vasco at Maracanã. This Thursday (July 29.07th), the red-and-blacks continue their preparations in Gávea. Initially, the activity would be divided into two periods, with press conferences in the morning. However, the coaching staff changed the schedule, and the players will only train at 15 p.m. Interviews will take place after training.
\Defender Ronaldo Angelim explained the importance of beach training for players. According to him, this type of work is important for strengthening muscles.
\"It's important because we relax and strengthen our muscles more in the sand than on the grass. It's a little tiring, but nothing too strenuous. It's good to do this kind of physical work so we're well prepared for games," said the number 4.
