Fitness trainer Toninho Oliveira admits to demanding activities and celebrates the group's performance

Itu (SP) - Flamengo's squad arrived in Itu on Tuesday morning (June 29.06) and, by the afternoon, had already started working up a sweat at the Spa Sport Resort. Fitness coach Toninho Oliveira led an intense workout at the beginning of the session, followed by Rogério Lourenço. The coach divided the group into three teams, which battled it out in a sort of mini-team tournament on a reduced-size field.

The games, closely observed not only by Rogério Lourenço but also by the executive director of football, Zico, unfolded as follows: two teams played while the other waited for the duel to end. The first team to score won the match. The idea, explained by Rogério himself to the players during training, was to test the group's pressing skills, both offensively and defensively.

The circuit prepared by Toninho had four stations for different activities. And the coach himself acknowledged that he tried to get the most out of the players, who left the field sweating profusely.

"It's a short but intense period of work. Today was really tough and demanding. And I'm happy because the players are responding well," he said.

Absenteeism – Midfielder Maldonado didn't train with the group again. He continues to do physical training on his own to strengthen his left knee. The Chilean walked laps around the field and did exercises in the gym. Michael and Paulo Sérgio trained but left early, feeling pain in their thighs.

This Wednesday (30.06), the red-black group trains full time at the Training Center, at 9 am and 15:30 pm.
