On Flamengo's first day back in Rio de Janeiro after the preseason in Itu, coach Rogério Lourenço led a mini-training session on a reduced-size field. Some players who played the entire training session in the São Paulo countryside did not participate in the activity and instead underwent a recovery workout.
The team without vests trained with Marcelo Lomba, Galhardo, Jean, Welinton, and Juan; Correa, Willians, Kleberson; Vinicius Pacheco, and Val Baiano. The team with vests was formed by Paulo Victor, Rodrigo Alvim, Fabrício, and Rômulo; Leo Medeiros, Fernando, Lenon, Saba, and Everton Silva; and Paulo Sérgio. The team without vests prevailed: 2-0, with goals from Galhardo and Willians.
Toró, David, Ronaldo Angelim, Petkovic, Leonardo Moura, Camacho, and Diego Maurício did gym exercises and walked laps around the field. Jorbison, Maldonado, and Michael also did separate training with the fitness trainers.
"Rogério knows exactly what he has in his hands, where each player can perform, and we have to be focused on doing our best in training, as if it were a game, so that our return is the best possible," said right-back Leonardo Moura.
