Flamengo signs left-back Matías Viña

Second reinforcement confirmed! Flamengo announced this Thursday (25) the signing of left-back Matías Viña, who belonged to Roma, in Italy. The 26-year-old Uruguayan signed a contract with the Gávea club until December 2028 and arrives to reinforce the red-black squad for the disputes of the Campeonato Carioca, Libertadores, Brasileirão and Copa do Brasil. 


A native of Espalme Olmos, Uruguay, Viña was discovered by Nacional-URU and established himself as a starting left-back in 2019. With strong performances, he was signed by Palmeiras the following year and was one of the team's standouts. In 2021, he completed his transfer to Roma. He also played for Bournemouth-ING and is currently on loan at Sassuolo-ITA, both on loan.
