Flamengo signed another reinforcement late in the afternoon of this Thursday (23.09). Left-back Uendel, 21, who was at Grêmio, is the Rubro-Negro's newest signing. He will stay at the club until the end of 2011, on loan, with the approval of coach Silas, with whom he worked at Avaí and also at Tricolor Gaúcho.

The player should already train with his new teammates on Friday (24.09) and, if he is registered in time with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), he could even debut in the duel with Palmeiras for the U-23 Cup, on Saturday (25.09), at the Los Larios stadium, in Xerém, in Baixada Fluminense. Happy with the agreement, Uendel gave an exclusive interview to Flamengo's official website shortly after the deal was completed.

"I'm very happy. Flamengo is a great club, it will be a great opportunity for me and I'm very motivated to perform on the field. I'm in good physical shape, I've been training normally, and if the need arises and everything goes well with the documentation, I'll be available on Saturday," he said.

Physical preparation: "I'm 100%. I've been training at Grêmio. I'm just a little lacking in match rhythm, which is normal, but with daily training I'll recover quickly."

Premiere forecast: "I'm available. I don't know yet if the documents and bureaucracy will be processed quickly, but if necessary, I can even play on Saturday. The plan is for me to train on Friday and Saturday. Since I'm old enough, I can even play in the U-23s to get my rhythm."

Silas: "I worked with Professor Silas at Grêmio and Avaí, so he knows me well, and I believe it was his recommendation, but it had the approval of everyone on the coaching staff. I'm very happy to have this opportunity to work with him again, he's a very talented coach."

Zico: "It's a pleasure to work with Zico. Coming to Flamengo with his support is definitely a plus. He was a great player and is now beginning his career as a manager. I'm sure he will do a lot for the club."

Position: "I'm a versatile player. I've played as a defensive midfielder, as a third defender... On the left side, I can help in various roles and that's what I'm here for."

Fans: "I've played against Flamengo a few times and I know what the pressure is like. Now, I'll have that in my favor and I'm very happy, because I know the strength of this red-and-black crowd. I hope to give them a lot of joy when I'm on the field."
