When he arrived at Flamengo on loan in July 2009, defender David perhaps didn't imagine how much he would identify with the club. His contract ended last month, but the player will remain at Gávea. This Thursday (August 12.08), the four-year contract was signed, and now the Rubro-negro team hopes to register the athlete for Saturday's (August 14.08) game against Ceará at Maracanã.
From now on, Flamengo will hold 60% of the player's economic rights. The remaining 40% will remain with David's former club, Panathinaikos, in Greece.
Happy with the positive outcome of the deal with the Greeks, the president of Flamengo celebrated the agreement with the young defender.
"We were able to resolve this situation and still have most of the player's rights. This is important for Flamengo," said Patricia Amorim.
