Commander in the campaign for the sixth title, Andrade remains as Flamengo's coach for the 2010 season. The news was confirmed to the official website by the Vice President of Football Marcos Braz, around nine o'clock in the evening this Wednesday (16/12), as soon as he arrived at one of the Council rooms, in Gávea, where a meeting was taking place between Patrícia Amorim and Helio Ferraz, among other participants. "It's closed", confirmed Marcos Braz, when asked about the agreement to renew Andrade's contract.
After confirming that negotiations on Tuesday (15/12) had reached a near impasse, Patrícia Amorim praised vice-president Marcos Braz. "His work was fundamental. I'm happy with the outcome. I wanted to keep Andrade. The fans can now rest easy," commented Flamengo's president-elect.

For Patrícia Amorim, the renewal is the first major achievement of a mandate that officially begins in 2010. "It's symbolic. I truly believe that problems can be resolved within Flamengo itself. At the same time, it's up to me to set the budget ceiling. I'm committed to the club's budget," said the president-elect, without mentioning any specific figures.

\ According to the councilwoman's press officer, Bernardo Monteiro,\ who attended the final stage of the negotiations, Andrade was happy with the\ agreement and said he owed a lot to Marcos Braz for having believed in his\ work.
\
The next step, according to Patrícia Amorim, is to take care of the squad for 2010. "We were already looking at this even before the agreement with Andrade. Our priority is to renew the contracts that are expiring." She also said she will await the coaching staff's suggestions for signings.
\
\ The club also agreed to renew the contract of Marcelo Sales, Andrade's assistant coach.
