The brand's debut at Manto Sagrado will be this Sunday, against Figueirense

On Thursday morning (10), Flamengo announced the club's new sponsor, Clipper, at the Rogerio Steinberg auditorium, at the Gávea headquarters. The Spanish company is a world leader in the lighter segment and has the licensing rights for Barcelona and Real Madrid - it will now also be able to use the Rubro-Negro image and brand on its products, which should be sold from September.
"Basically, the contract has two lines: sponsorship and licensing. The sponsorship contract provides for standard compensation, collective image rights, and promotion on our social media channels, all in order to bring the Clipper brand to all Brazilians. We are present 365 days a year in all media. The product licensing contract has a longer term, like Barcelona and Real Madrid, and Clipper will use Flamengo's brands and images to sell throughout Brazil. I'm certain it will be a huge sales success. This is the union of Brazil's biggest club with a leading brand in the segment worldwide. We know that Flamengo is the largest football media platform in Brazil, and we are confident that we will add significant value to Clipper by promoting its products throughout the country," said Bruno Spindel, the club's Marketing Director.
The brand's debut at Manto Sagrado will be this Sunday (11), at 16 pm, against Figueirense, at the Orlando Scarpelli stadium, in a match valid for the seventh round of the Brazilian Championship. Initially, it will be positioned on the upper part of the back, but may change to the lower part.
"In the 45-day contract to print the shirt, the brand will initially be on the upper back. We sent it to the board members for approval today (Thursday, the 9th) so that the brand can be moved to the lower back at the time we deem appropriate," explained Spindel, who also commented on the country's economic situation.
"The market reality is what it is. There's no point in fighting the market. We've worked hard to show our partners why Flamengo is the largest media platform in the country and to adapt the contract to the needs of each company, so they can invest in the club without cannibalizing their properties. This year, we renewed contracts with CAIXA, TIM, and Ambev; we have around 40 sponsors and partners. And now we've joined iFood and Clipper, leaders in their segments in Brazil. We're on the right track. I'm sure we'll bring a great return to those who work with us," concluded the executive.
Màrius Roca, Clipper's manager in Brazil, also highlighted the importance of Flamengo in introducing the Spanish brand to the Brazilian market.
"For us, this is a historic moment in Brazil. We truly believe that our history in football and having such a passionate fan base will increase our presence in the country. We want Clipper to be present at every moment of this passion. Just like Brazilians, we Spaniards believe in this love and that the Clipper flame will spread throughout the country. Flamengo's fan base is not only the largest in Brazil and the world, but also the most widespread in Brazil. It's a strategic partnership. We want to ignite the hearts of Flamengo fans," he stated.

Flamengo vice president Maurício Gomes de Mattos closed the press conference. "It's a pleasure to announce this partnership. We're very pleased and expect many lighters to be sold in Brazil. Clipper will warm the Sacred Mantle."
