Flamengo's new coach, Paulo César Carpegiani, was at CT George Helal this Tuesday, where he met all the members of the coaching staff with whom he will work in 2018, some players who have already introduced themselves and gave a press conference.
This is Carpegiani's third stint at the helm of Flamengo. His first, in 1981, ended only in 82, with the 81 state championship, the 82 Brazilian championship, and the Copa Libertadores and the Interclub World Cup. In 2000, he returned to work at Gávea, but left during the State Championship.
The new coach takes over the team after the departure of Reinaldo Rueda, and will only have the full squad next week, when everyone who is on vacation arrives.

Alongside his son, Rodrigo Carpegiani, also an assistant coach who joins the team, and Executive Director Rodrigo Caetano, the coach began his tour of the internal facilities, gym, offices, and all the fields. He then had his first contact with the coaching staff, which was already working with the players who returned from vacation before the rest of the squad.
After the tour, Carpegiani met with Flamengo president Eduardo Bandeira de Mello and CEO Fred Luz in the boardroom. He then gave an exclusive interview to FlaTV before speaking to the general press. Here are some of the points made at the press conference:

"I'm the coach, but we have a project. We're going to continue, which is to try to unify all categories. Theoretically, it's easy. We need to put it into practice. I'll participate in the meetings.
Message to the fans
"The fans can rest assured. We have the motto that Flamengo produces great players at home. I've lived it. I know what it's like. What marks a team, or a player, in history are titles. And that's what we're going to strive for: to make our mark on history."
Team commitment
"Talking is easy. We just have to show our football on the field. We'll only get the fans' support by showing good football. I have a lot of confidence in what this team can deliver. Titles will be a consequence of our football."
