Flamengo presented, on Thursday night, defender Fábio Luciano as the Club's new reinforcement.

The 32-year-old has signed a contract until the end of the year and is excited about the opportunity.

"When I received the Club's invitation, I didn't think twice. I'm on a sensational team, with wonderful fans, and the expectation is to compete for titles."

Fábio Luciano, who came through the ranks at Ponte Preta's youth academy and has played for Corinthians, Internacional and the Brazilian national team, received praise from new manager Joel Santana.

"He's an excellent signing and he's here to play. He's already shown at other clubs that he has what it takes to be one of Flamengo's top players," the coach assured.

The new sheriff of the red-black defense was eager to start training with his new teammates.

- I'm very happy to be here. I'm at a club with great players and I'll try to adapt as quickly as possible.
