Beginning the presentation, Bandeira de Mello explained the reason for choosing Ricardo Lomba for the position and the time it took to make the decision.
"The position had been vacant for some time, and I was filling both roles. But I was looking for someone who had the right profile and was also fully aligned with the principles and direction of Flamengo's management. Ricardo Lomba is a Flamengo fan, like me, always present at Flamengo games, has extensive experience in team management, and is the right person for the job," said the president, handing over to the new Vice President of Football.
Ricardo Lomba arrived already recognizing the magnitude of his responsibilities and his desire to contribute. Check out some highlights from his press conference below, and the full interview on Fla TV at the end of the text.
Responsibility
"The responsibility is truly enormous. Flamengo is huge. I only accepted this challenge because I believe that, together with the board, the football department, and the athletes, we have the potential to achieve our goals. We must always think about titles."
Organization
"We have a fantastic structure here at the training center, with top-notch professionals and a very good squad. Success will soon come with these titles I mentioned."
I work in two professions
"Yes, I have my other profession, but this has already been discussed with the president and will be resolved. I will have plenty of time to dedicate myself to Flamengo and the day-to-day running of football."
Cast
"I arrive with high expectations. It wasn't the result we were hoping for (in the Copa do Brasil final), but we have a very qualified squad, with every chance of winning the Copa Sudamericana and doing well in the Brazilian Championship. We still have time to make specific analyses."
