Flamengo will present, this Tuesday (03.08), two more reinforcements for the 2010 season. Midfielder Renato Abreu and striker Leandro Amaral will officially wear the sacred mantle after the training of the red-black squad, which occupies the eighth position in the Brazilian Championship, in the afternoon. The group begins the activities at 15 pm and, later, the two players will give press conferences in the press room of the football department.

This will be Renato's second stint with Flamengo. The midfielder played for the club from 2005 to 2007 and has made 128 appearances for the club. He scored 46 goals and won the Copa do Brasil in 2006 and the State Championship in 2007. He also won the individual awards for best left midfielder in the 2006 Brasileirão and was also named the club's star player that same year.

"Renato is a player who is identified with Flamengo and can help us a lot. He is a quality player and we hope he repeats the success he had in his first stint here," said Flamengo's executive director of football, Zico.

Leandro Amaral began his career with Flamengo. He burst onto the scene in 1997 while playing for Portuguesa (SP). From there, he moved to Fiorentina (ITA) and returned to Brazilian football, playing for various clubs such as Grêmio, São Paulo, Corinthians, Vasco, and Fluminense. After a long period of inactivity due to a serious injury, the player hopes to regain his best form with Flamengo.

"We're going to give Leandro a chance because of all his dedication and potential. We need to be patient; he hasn't played in a long time and will help us in any way he can," Zico added.
