Flamengo presents Rodrigo
The new red-black defender wore the number 4 shirt.
By Flamengo Archive - inFlamengo has announced another signing for the 2008 season. Defender Rodrigo, a former player for Dynamo Kyiv in Ukraine, has signed a one-year contract with the Gávea club. Vice President of Football Kleber Leite welcomed the new signing.
- "Rodrigo's signing demonstrates Flamengo's renewed credibility in the market. He had offers from other clubs, including São Paulo, but chose to play for Flamengo. His desire to wear this jersey was very important."
The new defender wore the number 4 shirt and showed all his joy upon arriving in Gávea.
- "I'm very happy to be here at Flamengo. In the two days that I've been in Rio de Janeiro, I've been very well received by the fans and the directors. I know the responsibility of wearing the red-and-black shirt and I'm sure the Club won't regret signing me."
Just like Marcinho, another new addition to the Club, the player couldn't hold back in his praise for the red-black fans.
- "In the last few months I've been able to watch Flamengo's games on television, and I've had goosebumps at home watching the fans celebrate at Maracanã. I'm very happy to support a Club with these fans."
Rodrigo is 27 years old and has played for Ponte Preta, São Paulo, and Dynamo Kyiv. He rose to prominence with São Paulo in 2005.
The player begins physical activities in Gávea right after Christmas.
