Flamengo reaches historic milestone of 200 games in the Copa do Brasil
Rubro-Negro is the club with the most matches in the competition

When the referee blew the final whistle for Athletico 0 x 1 Flamengo at Arena da Baixada last Wednesday (17), it wasn't just the history of the 2022 edition of the Copa do Brasil that was marked - it was that of the entire competition. In the first leg of the semifinal, the Mais Querido will reach the 200-game mark in the tournament, becoming the first team in the country to do so.
After making history in the Brazilian Championship, becoming the first club to play 1500 matches, it's now time to mark the Copa do Brasil. The victory over Athletico was their 199th match and left Flamengo at the top of the competition's all-time games played, ahead of Grêmio, who has 198. Tricolor Gaúcho led the rankings but was eliminated in the first round of this season.
Flamengo has a rich history in the competition. Flamengo is the club that has finished in the top four the most times: reaching the semifinals 15 times, the same number as Grêmio. Flamengo is the third team that has played in the final the most times: reaching seven finals, with three unforgettable titles in 3, 1990, and 2006. The Most Beloved is only behind Cruzeiro (2013 finals) and Grêmio (8).
