In the ninth round of Cariocão, Flamengo drew 2-2 with Resende on Sunday afternoon (27), at Nilton Santos. The red-black goals were scored by Arrascaeta and Gabi, both in the second half.

The game
The match began with Flamengo taking the initiative and exchanging passes in the attacking half. The first good opportunity for the red-and-black team came in the eighth minute. Rodinei received a backheel pass from Pedro and took a shot from the edge of the box. The ball sailed over the goal.

In the 16th minute, Bruno Henrique played a one-two with Gabi, entered the box, and chipped the ball over the goalkeeper. The ball grazed the post. Another beautiful play followed. Everton Ribeiro advanced down the left and sent a low cross into the box, Bruno Henrique set up a screen, and Gabigol finished. The goalkeeper palmed it away for a corner.

At 26', Resende took the lead with Emanuel Biancucchi, who took advantage of the rebound inside the area and pushed it into the goal: 1-0.

Trailing, the red-and-black team rushed forward in search of an equalizer. In the 31st minute, João Gomes received the ball at the edge of the box and struck a powerful cross. The ball flew just wide of Resende's post.

In the final minutes, Gabigol and Pedro both hit goalkeeper Jefferson Luís's post. Despite numerous scoring chances, Flamengo went into halftime trailing.

In the second half, Flamengo continued to play more aggressively, exchanging passes in the attacking midfield to try to open up space in Resende's defense. Flamengo attempted offensive plays but lacked the final pass and finishing on goal.

In the 36th minute, Jeffinho extended Resende's lead after a defensive error: 2-0. In the final stretch, Mengão scored the first goal. Arrascaeta received the ball at the edge of the box, turned and hit a beautiful shot into the goalkeeper's corner: 2-1.

In stoppage time, Rodinei was fouled in the box, and the referee awarded a penalty. Gabi stepped up to take the shot and only displaced the goalkeeper: 2-2. The end of the game was thrilling, and Flamengo narrowly missed the comeback.

Next appointment
The Most Beloved returns to the field next Sunday (6) for the Clássico dos Milhões against Vasco, at 16 pm, with the location yet to be defined.
