Interim coach Mario Jorge led a tactical drill to determine the starting lineup for the match against the São Paulo team. Midfielder Arrascaeta participated in the drill and was named in the squad for the match. In the afternoon, the red-and-black team departs for São Paulo.

Flamengo and Corinthians have faced each other 150 times, with Flamengo having the upper hand. Flamengo has won 62 times, drawn 33 times, and lost 55 times. In the first round of the Brazilian Championship, Corinthians won 1-0 at Maracanã, with a goal from Léo Pereira.
