Clube de Regatas do Flamengo announces that Paraguayan midfielder Piris da Motta is a reinforcement for the red-black team for the rest of the 2018 season. The athlete, who turned 24 on July 26, was at San Lorenzo (ARG) and arrives at Flamengo with a contract until the end of 2022.

Born in Ciudad del Este, a city on the border with Brazil, the midfielder was discovered in 2008 by Rubio Ñu, a team from Asunción, the Paraguayan capital. He cemented his career at one of the country's biggest clubs, Olimpia, and subsequently transferred to San Lorenzo, where he had been playing since last year.

This season, Piris da Motta has played 25 matches for the Argentine team. He played 20 times in the Argentine Championship, starting 17 times. In the CONMEBOL Sudamericana, he played both matches against Atlético-MG in the first round, and last week he played in the loss to Temuco of Chile.

Agile, with good marking ability and a good attacking ability, Piris da Motta has played for both the Paraguayan youth and senior national teams. In 2013, he played in the U-20 World Cup in Turkey and recently played in two South American qualifiers for the World Cup in Russia and two more in the 2016 Copa América Centenario in the United States.

"The truth is, I'm very happy with this step in my career, especially because I play for the biggest club in Brazil. Just knowing they were interested in me was a huge source of pride. I hope to make the most of my time here at Flamengo and enjoy it to the fullest," the athlete celebrated.
